Show Notes:
Worship by Dennis Marinello
As we celebrate Christmas we take a commercial break from what we have been doing to explore different elements of Christmas. This is 1 of 3. Hope.
In Dante's Inferno there is a gateway that leads into hell. Inscribed on the gates is a saying, "abandon all hope, ye who enter here". The more that I work with people the more I have realized that humanity raises these gates over our lives or over certain areas of our life. Abandon all hope you who want to enter my past. Abandon all hope you who want to know me. Abandon all hope.
God steps into our chaos. God, the logos, steps into our reality (sarks). The fundamental reality of Christianity... is that God has not abandoned us. Our hope lies in God's presence with us in our chaos, in our indecision, in our incompleteness, in our flaws, because he is the God who lives up to His name, Im-manu-el. With. Us. God is. God is with us.
